How to write a CV that works in Kiunga

Recruiters in Kiunga usually skim a CV in well under a minute before deciding whether to read on, and many employers first pass applications through an applicant tracking system (ATS). A good CV is easy for both: clear headings, a plain layout, and the words the job advert uses.

1. Start with a short summary

Three or four lines: who you are professionally, your years of experience, your strongest skills and one result you are proud of. Write it for the job you want, not every job.

2. Show results, not just duties

Under each job, use 3–6 bullet points that start with an action verb — led, built, reduced, trained — and say what changed. Numbers help when they are true: team size, customers served, money saved.

3. Match the job advert

Use the job title and key skills from the advert where they honestly describe you. Keep one saved CV per kind of role so each stays focused.

4. Keep it clean and checkable

One or two pages for most jobs, a clear font at 10–11 pt, consistent dates (e.g. Mar 2021 – Present), and contact details that work. Read it aloud once before you send it — spelling mistakes are an easy reason for a CV to be put aside.

Next steps: check how an ATS reads your CV with the ATS score checker, get a resume score, then write a matching cover letter.

Is the CV builder free?

Yes. Building, editing, previewing and printing are free for everyone. Downloading a PDF needs a free account: the free plan includes 1 PDF download a month, Premium 25 and Executive 100.

Where are my CVs saved?

When you are signed in, every change is saved to your own Expertini account within a couple of seconds, so you can open your CVs on any device and in the Expertini app. Without an account your draft is kept only in this browser. Employers never see your CVs unless you send them.

Can I keep more than one CV?

Yes — create a separate CV for each kind of job you apply for, duplicate one to start a new version, and rename them so you can find them later.

Should I add a photo?

It depends on where you apply. In much of Europe, the Middle East and Asia a photo is common; in the UK, the US, Canada and Australia most employers prefer CVs without one. If you add a photo, use a recent, professional head-and-shoulders picture.

What does “Improve with AI” do?

It rewrites the wording of your summary, a job's bullet points or your skills for the job title you enter. It is told to keep every fact you wrote and add nothing new, so it never invents employers, dates or numbers — but always read the suggestion before you use it. Each use counts as one AI request on your plan.

Where do the job titles come from?

The job-title suggestions and the “Ideas from O*NET” summaries come from O*NET, the US Department of Labor's occupation database. Use them as a starting point and describe your own experience.

Can I move my CV from the old builder?

Yes. If you used the previous version of this builder in the same browser, sign in and you will be offered to move that CV to your account. You can also import any CV you exported as a .json file.
